Oral surgery
We carry out a range of minor oral surgical procedures. Our priority throughout any surgical treatment is your comfort and safety. We take time to ensure you are adequately anaesthetised before beginning, explain each step as we go, and provide clear aftercare instructions to support your recovery.
Where a procedure is beyond the scope of what we do in our surgery or requires general anaesthesia, we will refer you to a trusted oral and maxillofacial surgeon and coordinate your care throughout.
Tooth extractions
Sometimes a tooth cannot be saved through restorative treatment and extraction is the most appropriate course of action. This may be due to severe decay, advanced gum disease, a fractured tooth, or to create space for orthodontic treatment.
We always discuss all available options before recommending an extraction, and where possible we will discuss tooth replacement options (such as an implant or bridge) at the same time, so you can plan ahead.
Wisdom teeth
Wisdom teeth (third molars) commonly cause problems because the jaw often does not have sufficient space to accommodate them. They may become impacted (partially or fully trapped beneath the gum) or erupt at an angle that causes crowding, pain, or infection.
We assess wisdom teeth carefully before recommending removal, taking X-rays to understand their position and relationship to surrounding structures. Not all wisdom teeth need to be removed. We will give you an honest assessment of whether removal is necessary and, if so, whether it can be carried out at our surgery or requires specialist referral.
